Spherical images can now be saved in the smartphone album. Also, Photo Sphere XMP meta data is now added when images are saved.

A version update for the RICOH THETA app is now available.
Spherical images can now be saved in the smartphone album and sent to friends as email attachments. Images saved in the smartphone album can be viewed using the RICOH THETA app or other apps that support Photo Sphere XMP.

Contents of the version updates for each of the RICOH THETA apps are as follows.

■The iOS version app “RICOH THETA for iPhone”

  • “Save to Camera Roll” can now be selected from the right arrow icon (→) at the bottom of the single view screen.
  • Top/bottom correction is applied and Photo Sphere XMP meta data is added when images are saved to the camera roll.
  • Spherical images in the camera roll can now be viewed.
  • The iPhone now does not automatically lock while transferring spherical images from the camera to the iPhone.

■The Android version app “RICOH THETA for Android”

  • “Save to Gallery” can now be selected from the single view screen.
  • Top/bottom correction is applied and Photo Sphere XMP meta data is added when images are saved to the Gallery.
  • Spherical images in the Gallery can now be viewed.

■The computer version app “RICOH THETA for Windows(R)/Mac”

  • Spherical images can now be created with slant correction and with Photo Sphere XMP meta data added by selecting “Write with top/bottom correction” in the “File” when the spherical image is displayed.
  • You can now zoom in/out of spherical images by using touch panel operations on a tablet PC. However, AIR runtime 4.0 needs to be installed in order to use this function.
  • “To next” and “To previous” can now be selected from the ” Display ” when the spherical image is displayed.
  • “>”(To next) and “<“(To previous) can now be selected from the navigation when the spherical image is displayed.
  • A completed notification is now displayed at startup.
